Are these two terms interchangeable?
They are closely related, but not exactly the same.
LED therapy refers to the technology used to generate light—specifically, light-emitting diodes. Red light therapy is a type of LED therapy that uses specific wavelengths within the red spectrum.
In other words, all red light therapy devices that use LEDs are part of LED therapy, but not all LED therapy is red light therapy. LED devices can also emit blue, green, or other wavelengths for different purposes.
In the market, most modern red light therapy devices use LED technology because it is efficient, durable, and cost-effective compared to older laser-based systems.
