Is it possible to receive too much red light therapy?

Technically, it is very difficult to “overdose” on red light therapy in the same way that someone might overdose on medication or chemicals. The therapy uses non-ionizing light, which means it does not accumulate in the body or cause chemical toxicity.

However, excessive use may lead to diminishing benefits or mild skin irritation. Cells respond best to moderate stimulation, and prolonged exposure beyond recommended limits does not necessarily improve outcomes.

In practical terms, using the therapy responsibly and following manufacturer guidelines prevents any risk of overexposure.
